Inlays and onlays work in a very similar way to fillings but are used to fill in a much larger surface area.
An inlay will be used to fill in a tooth with a large surface area, such as those found at the back of your mouth.
An onlay is used to repair the cusp of a tooth and will help build out the visible part of the tooth that has otherwise been damaged from injury or decay.
When fitting an onlay, we’ll first have to take an impression of the tooth which will be sent off to a lab technician who will make your unique onlay.
Much like fillings, inlays and onlays can be made of either metal, composite or porcelain.
